Founded in November 2014, The Refuge Church has always been about outreach. Positioned in the heart of our community, we are dedicated to serving and loving our neighbors. From our clothes closet and outreach events, we strive to meet real needs. Our outreach extends beyond our walls as we serve in schools and apartment complexes—wherever God leads us.
At The Refuge Church, we believe in living The Life together and sharing the unconditional love of Christ. Our mission is simple: to be a place of refuge where people experience God’s love, grow in faith, and serve the community. As we move toward our Vision in 2025 based on Acts 28:2, we are committed to building a fire and reaching the one, igniting passion for Christ and making a difference—one life at a time.
At The Refuge, worship is casual, contemporary, and uplifting. We believe in creating an atmosphere where you can freely express your love for God, whether that means raising your hands in praise or quietly reflecting on His goodness.
The Bible is the foundation of our teaching (2 Timothy 3:16), and every message is rooted in God’s truth, relevant to your life today. After each message, we take time to respond—whether at the altar or in your seat—allowing God to move in our hearts and lives.
Church is more than a Sunday morning experience—it’s about doing life together. That’s why we embrace the SWAT approach:
We offer multiple ways to connect, including Small Groups, Wednesday night Bible studies, worship nights and various service opportunities within the church (greeters, ushers, media, teachers, and more). Find your place at The Refuge and experience the power of authentic community.
Wherever you are on your faith journey, you belong here. Come experience God’s love, grow in your walk with Christ, and join us as we build a fire and reach the one.
Welcome home. Welcome to The Refuge.
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. Written by men but under the supernatural leading of the Holy Spirit. It is our basis for truth and making right decisions.
We believe in one eternal God who is the creator of everything. God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit all together are the one true God.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and freely offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for all of our sin. He was crucified, buried, and rose from the dead after three days demonstrating his victory over sin and death. He is the only way to eternal life and reconciliation with God.
We believe that salvation is available for everyone and happens when we accept Christ’s sacrifice for our sin and make Him Lord of our lives. That means we no longer live for ourselves but strive to live in the holiness of Jesus Christ.
We believe that a Christian’s life should show the fruit of the Spirit as found in Galatians 5:22-23. We also believe that God gives spiritual gifts to each person for them to grow in and to use for the benefit of the church. Examples of these gifts are found in I Corinthians 12 and Romans 12.
We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit as a separate experience available to all after receiving salvation. We believe this experience brings additional power for sharing the gospel and for living victoriously. We believe that the ability to pray in an unknown language given by the Holy Spirit also accompanies this experience.
We believe that each person was designed to be part of a local body of believers. Each person has their place in the body and we all need each other to fulfill the purpose of church here on earth. Namely, to spread the message of the gospel and to help one another grow into the maturity of Christ.
We believe in following the Lord Jesus in water baptism by immersion and by partaking in the Lord’s Supper (also called Communion).
We believe that Jesus Christ is coming back again just as he promised he would. No one knows exactly when that will be but the Bible gives us signs to know when it is near. We should live like it will happen any day.
We believe that man is an eternal being and will spend eternity in either a perfect Heaven or a cursed Hell based on solely or whether or not they have accepted Christ’s gift of salvation.
